Clinton Park, Northside, and Eastside Elementary Schools (Clinton Public School District)

Clinton Park, Northside, and Eastside Elementary Schools (Clinton Public School District) with Second Harvest Food Pantry. Project to educate school children about the importance of helping others, with the end result of promoting kindness, empathy, and reducing bullying.

Three Clinton public schools – Clinton Park elementary, Northside Elementary and Eastside Elementary have an ongoing relationship with the Second Harvest Food Pantry at Morrison Heights Baptist Church. Students hold food drives to collect canned goods and other nonperishable to stock the food pantry shelves. Older students visit Second Harvest to learn more about their services and assemble grocery bags for families. Second Harvest sends representatives to classrooms to talk about Second Harvest’s services and the people they serve. Students participating in this project have an enhanced understanding of the needs in the community. This partnership is part of a district-wide effort to promote kindness, empathy and to prevent bullying.
