Rowan Elementary School
The “I Am William Carey University” initiative connects medical students from William Carey University with students at Rowan Elementary School to inspire early college aspirations through tutoring, mentorship, and community service. William Carey medical students volunteer their time to support Rowan students in math, science, and reading, while also participating in school and community activities. Through a powerful call-and-response tradition “Who is a William Carey student?” Rowan students proudly answer, “I am a future William Carey student,” reinforcing a mindset of future academic success. The program also teaches service and global compassion through projects such as this years, "Kick the cold" blanket drive to support children in Honduras during the cold winter months.
