The SCSD STEAM Academy, in partnership with Poultronix Robotics, is transforming access to advanced STEM education in rural Mississippi by centralizing high-level coursework and real-world engineering experiences for students across multiple schools. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders, higher education, and community stakeholders, students engage in hands-on learning that bridges classroom instruction with workforce-ready skills. This innovative, district-wide model removes barriers to opportunity, expands dual credit and advanced course access, and builds a sustainable pipeline from K–12 education to high-demand careers. By redefining how rural districts deliver STEM education, we are creating equitable access and empowering students to compete and lead on a global stage.
