Shocked faces, tears of joy, and smiles of gratitude are words that best describe the powerful impact of the Harrison County School District's Inaugural Teacher of the Month and Novice Teacher of the Month Surprises. This year, HCSD teamed up with two local small businesses to visit schools to surprise and celebrate our experienced and new educators in response to the serious teacher shortage issue. The program became so popular, a third business decided to join the program to surprise district administrators and staff of the month winners. Although those who were honored received small tokens of appreciation, their reactions to this special recognition program have been emotional and unforgettable.
