Hawkins Elementary (Hattiesburg Public Schools)

Hawkins Elementary (Hattiesburg Public School District) with St. Paul Methodist Church. Programs that support nutrition and well-being, positive behavior intervention, and drug and alcohol awareness.

St. Paul Methodist Church supports Hawkins Elementary School through a number of efforts: by funding incentives for students and staff members; increasing student and teacher morale; and by creating a culture of positivity and growth.

The Back-Pack Buddies Program helps meet the needs of less fortunate students by providing nutritious meals that can be taken home and consumed over weekends and holiday breaks. The National Red Ribbon Week Initiatives provided by the church help with student morale and drug and alcohol awareness. Educators are recognized, rewarded, and honored during the holiday season and at the Annual Teacher Appreciation Week Lunch. The Annual Earth Day Celebration focuses on promoting healthy, clean living, and sustaining an environment that’s safe for humans and wildlife.

St. Paul Methodist Church impacts Hawkins Elementary students by decreasing barriers to success, increasing teacher efficacy, rewarding positive student behavior, and enhancing the overall growth of the school.
