Hattiesburg Public Schools (2023)

The Hattiesburg Public Schools (HPS) partnership with four dynamic, committed organizations and groups is entitled the “Tiger Partners”. Through the work of the “Tiger Partners” and Hattiesburg Public Schools, the students, staff, and community promote the vision of becoming a model teaching and learning environment that graduates every student prepared for success in life, college, and the workforce as well as support a foundational mission of educating all students to become productive citizens in a dynamic, global community.
The “Tiger Partners” include the following four key collaborators: The City of Hattiesburg, The University of Southern Mississippi, William Carey University, and Pearl River Community College. These strong partnerships have proven beneficial in engaging students, staff, parents, and community members in the important work of educating students to become responsible and successful individuals. The goal of the “Tiger Partners” collaboration is to collectively through strategies, events, initiatives, activities, and practices systematically support increased student achievement and success for the district's students, staff, families, and community.
Through the collaborative efforts of Hattiesburg Public Schools and the "Tiger Partners", the school district has demonstrated accomplishments in student achievement, educator effectiveness, climate and culture, and family and community engagement. In fact, for the first time in history, Hattiesburg Public Schools achieved the overall rating of an "A" based on the 2021-2022 State Accountability Model; and, four of the district's schools also accomplished A ratings with three schools earning B ratings and one school growing to a C rating.
