Northwest Rankin and Rankin County School District (2024)
The Chamber of Flowood's Education Committee, led by Angela Reynolds, has made incredible progress in connecting industry with education. With the Business in the Classroom annual event, a community leader is placed in every classroom in Flowood - all grades in both public and private schools - so that students can connect with a successful local professional and hear about the job opportunities available in our state.
The entire school district, especially the work of Dr. Pou, have made industry connections meaningful, providing open access to students for both current and future employment opportunities. Career Fairs with over 100 interactive job stations for Juniors and Seniors were recently added to the incredible collaborative efforts of Northwest Rankin High School and the Rankin County School District as a whole.
When a new business opens in Flowood, they immediately reach out to the Chamber, and we are able to connect them to our Northwest High School Team. Hundreds of students have been hired this year to high paying flexible after-school jobs, because of this partnership that allows both our schools and our businesses to thrive.
