West Hancock Elementary SChool

West Hancock Elementary School partnered with the Hancock County Mississippi State University Extension Service to establish a 4-H Club that provides students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences connected to real-world skills, agriculture, science, leadership, and community engagement. Through this partnership, students participated in monthly, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the 4-H motto, “Learn by Doing.” The project strengthened school-community relationships while expanding learning opportunities beyond the classroom. By embedding 4-H into the school day, the program ensured equitable access for all students and fostered long-term interest in civic responsibility and lifelong learning.
