The WCU Alternate Route Department has formed partnerships with the Meridian, McComb, Jackson Public, Pearl River Central, Aberdeen and Columbus Municipal School Districts to help find and retain licensed teachers for their classrooms. Over 300 teachers have been licensed via these partnerships in the last year. Scholarships, recruitment, support, and ongoing training have been provided to the school districts from the WCU Alternate Route Department in the form of virtual classes, recruitment meetings, online support, and in-person support.
