Brandon High School (Rankin County School District) with multiple community partners. Health Science Academy offers a four-year curriculum for students interested healthcare careers.
The Academy’s clinical settings gives students an insight into possible future employment. Along with what is being taught in the classroom, community partnerships allow students to have hands-on experiences with the healthcare field and community service. Students also get firsthand clinical experience in a variety of sports settings. In conjunction with clinical shadowing and industry visits, students work on the sidelines with athletic trainers covering games at Brandon High School.
They also attend workshops at Mississippi Sports Medicine, where they observe a cadaver lab, learn about surgeries, and practice rehabilitation techniques.
