Pass Road Elementary
This project focuses on utilizing oral history and local history to deepen understanding of our community and the individuals buried in the cemetery behind our school. Students interviewed descendents to gather stories, which are used to create scripts for informative cemetery tours we open to the community, raising awareness about this historical significant yet often forgotten site. We also developed a walking tour foldable for visitors that can be used throughout the year, highlighting those interred. Additionally, we participate in restoration and cleaning efforts to preserve the cemetery, ensuring that the stories and histories of our community remain vibrant and accessible for future generations.
