Richland High School (Rankin County School District)

Richland High School (Rankin County School District) with Richland Fire Department. Career and vocation training program.

Qualified fireman from the Richland Fire Department provide training to Richland High School students which includes CPR certification; safety, search and rescue procedures; emergency removal of victims from cars; proper technique for the use of rescue equipment; physical strength training; and fire suppression skills. The program’s success requires collaboration between the students, their parents, the school, and the Richland Fire Department. Exposing students to a career with the fire department familiarizes students with public service jobs in the fire department and will hopefully increase the future workforce.
