  • Sudduth Elementary School

    The Oktibbeha County Master Gardener Volunteers (OCMGV) and Sudduth Elementary School students and staff collaborate each year to provide opportunities for hands-on experience with nature and growing plants for a group of diverse Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade students at a consolidated public school.
  • Lanier High School

    Lanier High School is the oldest African American high school in Jackson, MS. The rich traditions and history of Lanier High School are still evident where over 550 plus students are enrolled and learning daily. Since 1998, the mission of the Lanier High School National Alumni Association has been to support the academic, social, and economic needs of students at Lanier High School in order to increase academic success and to support the development of the skills sets that will contribute to the participatory citizenship of all students.
  • Vicksburg Warren School District - Academy

    All education leads to employment - this philosophy is embraced by the Vicksburg Warren School District and its community partners on the Vicksburg Warren College and Career Academy (VWCCA) Workforce Engagement Council. This idea has driven the activities of this project's volunteers and positively impacted the trajectory of high school students across the district.

    Thames Elementary School partners with Chad, Ron, and Michelle Williams and the McDonald’s Corp. to improve student behavior and academic achievement. Specifically, student behavior that fosters both academic excellence and integrity.
  • Obama Magnet PTA - Pandemic Partnership Response

    In response to the pandemic, Jackson Public Schools opted to provide virtual learning during the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year. Teachers would report to work as they normally would while students would learn at home using a virtual format. Teachers at Obama Magnet Elementary utilized Google Classroom and Zoom as their preferred platforms for virtual instruction. Learning at home schedules and office hours were established.

    N.R. Burger Middle School is a dynamic learning community that promotes college and career ready students who are prepared to succeed in a diverse, global society. More than ever, it has become evident that educators have to address students, parents, and families from a holistic approach. In doing so, it is vital that we solicit help from our community. Over the years, building strong partnerships with various organizations and members of our community has contributed to the overall success of our school and our school district.
